Sources on the dashboard
Referrers, hostnames, traffic channels, and AI-related referrers in the Sources breakdown.
The Sources breakdown explains where visits came from: sites that linked to you, your own hostnames, grouped channels, and traffic attributed to AI tools when referrers match known patterns.
For marketing links with UTM parameters, use the dedicated UTM campaigns page. Campaign tracking is opt-in and stores only allowlisted UTM fields, not full query strings.
What you see
| Angle | What it means |
|---|---|
| Referrers | The site or URL that sent the visitor when that signal exists. |
| Hostnames | The hostname visitors used to reach your site. |
| Channels | Grouped classes such as direct, search, social, and referrals. |
| AI / tools | Referrals from assistants and search-style tools when identifiable. |
Subdomains
If you track multiple hosts as one site (for example www and app), hostname rows reflect how visits were split across those hosts. See Track across subdomains.
